Two outstanding opportunities have arisen at Manager level with this leading global FUND ADMINISTRATION Company based in HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA. This is an opportunity to join a world leading organisation in CANADA. The Company has 6000 employees in 45 different countries.
Applications are invited from candidates having at least 5 years industry experience including Mangement and Supervisory experience. This appointment would be of particular interest to candidates having MUTUAL FUNDS experience. Also key to the appointment is your ability to manage people. Your prior experience should include recruitment, interviewing, objective setting, and an ability to conduct 1-2-1 staff appraisals. The role will report into a VP and will have a number of Supervisors reporting in to you. Each Supervisor is likely to be managing a team of between 7- 10 people.
The Fund Accounting Manager will form part of a professional team responsible for financial reporting for a portfolio of international hedge funds and manage a team of accountants, maintain client contacts plus interact with colleagues from other international offices.
Main Job Functions/Responsibilities:
" Review of Daily/Weekly P&L/NAV estimates
" Review Monthly/Weekly NAV accounting work
" Assist staff with their work whenever the need arises
" Act as liaison with the client on matters relating to the preparation of the monthly reporting package
" Act as liaison with the auditors
" Prepare responses to the client on any number of issues and queries which they are requesting from time to time
" Review administrative / accounting procedures and recommend solutions in order to work towards a more efficient NAV production process
" Monitor compliance of various SLA agreements with the client/ other Offices
" Negotiate SLA with client/ other Offices
" Assist and support new fund setups, conversions and migrations
" Support the conversion of all new clients
" Ensure adherence to all internal and external audit standards
" Ensure all control checklists are up to date and utilized
" Work with other managers to ensure efficient allocation of staff and workflow
" Keep Senior Management abreast of all material issues affecting the processing of deliverables
" Implementing training initiatives
" Other Ad Hoc Reports requests and operations metrics as required by management
Essential to this appointment is a professional accountancy qualification; ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, CGA, CA, CPA as well as exposure to Hedge / Mutual Funds or investment companies.
