Established over 10 years ago, the Halifax office in Nova Scotia, Canada has grown to be a professional team of over 400 people who service over 150 clients. A Managerial opportunity now exist within the Teams providing Middle Office, Corporate Actions/P&L and Back Office services. The Manager - Operations role falls within the Middle Office operations.
Reporting to a Vice President of Operations, the Manager will ensure daily deliverables are met with Hedge Fund clients and other Offices per Service Level Agreements, while also maintaining a focus on training and development of staff, work flow processes and improvements. Experience of staff management is crucial with particular expertise in conducting one to one staff appraisals. This a challenging job in a rapidly expanding international company with an informal company culture.
The key requirements for the appointment are as follows:
" Bachelor or Master level degree (in accounting, finance, economics) or professional accounting designation, ie ACCA
" 7 + years in Financial Services with an exposure to P&L Reporting or Operations processing
" Product knowledge: Domestic, Global and OTC security markets, Fixed Income and derivative product knowledge
" Knowledge of Hedge or Mutual Funds
" Strong analytical skills
" Exposure to systems implementations and work flow process initiatives
" Advanced skills in MS Excel
