In House Employment Solicitor
A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for an employment solicitor to join a leading insurance firm to do all its in house employment work. This is a thriving company which is constantly expanding who is looking for an employment solicitor to run all their in house employment and HR functions.
The Role.
This is a new and developmental role. The company have decided to take on an employment lawyer to set up their own HR Department and deal with in – house employment law issues. Rather than employing an HR person to set up the department they have decided to employ an employment solicitor to run the department and deal with all their in house legal issues. Amongst starting up the department your duties would also include:-
Dealing with contracts of employment
Some assistance in interviewing higher level staff
Dealing with day to day employment issues
Overseeing the complaints person and assisting with complaints/Ombudsman
Assisting Directors with other legal matters/contracts etc.
This is an ideal position for someone who has a good knowledge of employment law and is up to date with the same but wishes to get more involved in the running of a business.
The salary is dependent on experience but will be somewhere in the region of £30k and £40k.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an employment solicitor who is either working in house or keen to move in house and has good experience of non-contentious and contentious work and advising business on employment law issues.
The Company
This insurance firm started in 1998 as a way of raising money for animal charities. The company has rapidly expanded. In 2002 they had their first office they now employ 70 staff based in 2 offices just off the A303 near Amesbury. There is plenty of room for growth. In 2008 they had around 17,000 policyholders, as at 2011 they have approaching 200,000!
