Commercial Solicitor - IT/ IP- Oxford
A phenomenal opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Solicitor who is a specialist in Intellectual Property (IP) and Information Technology to join one of the UK's leading full service law firms. As a Commercial IP/ IT Solicitor based in Oxford you will be working in one of the most highly regarded commercial departments in Oxfordshire which is going from strength to strength. The Role
As a commercial IP/IT Solicitor your role involves advising clients on general commercial work (including purchase and sale conditions, manufacturing, distribution and agency arrangements) and IP/IT and outsourcing work. The successful Commercial IP/IT Solicitor will take the lead in developing the many existing opportunities within our client base and then grow a practice by using their own network to generate new instructions. Whilst not a "partner designate role" there is no doubt that the route to partnership is clear and the right person will have our client's total support in gaining promotion to partnership on merit.

Our client is one of the UK's leading full service law firms, with offices in London and the South East with over 100 partners and a total staff of over 650. Our client has a strongly commercial and friendly approach and clients who range from multi-national companies, owner-managed businesses, SMEs, government agencies and business and property owners.

Their Oxford Corporate and Commercial team (part of a much larger team with colleagues in Southampton and London offices) currently comprises three partners and three solicitors.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a high calibre Solicitor of 5-7yrs pqe with experience acquired at a leading national, regional or city firm. Ideally you will have been involved in good quality general commercial work (including purchase and sale conditions, manufacturing, distribution and agency arrangements) and ideally IP, IT and outsourcing work. If you have had exposure to good quality corporate transactional work this would be an advantage. The individual will be a real team player with excellent client communication skills.
You must enjoy practice development and have a successful track record of generating work in your own right. If you already have strong connections in the Oxford/Thames Valley business community so much the better.
